SkyPay protects air passenger rights in cases of overbooking, also known as denied boarding.
Don’t let this practice ruin your travel experience. We’re here to help you enforce your rights and obtain what you are owed. SkyPay operates in accordance with EU Regulation (EC) No. 261/2004, which provides specific compensation for passengers who are denied boarding.
If you have a confirmed reservation but you are prevented from boarding due to overbooking, you are entitled to financial compensation.
You may be entitled to overbooking compensation if your flight departs from a country in the European Union (or the United Kingdom), or if it arrives in the EU (or the UK) and is operated by a European airline.
This right applies when you are denied boarding against your will due to the airline selling more seats than available, provided you have a valid booking and you did not voluntarily give up your seat.
The compensation amount for denied boarding due to overbooking depends on the flight distance.
for all flights up to
1,500 km.
for intra-EU flights over 1,500 km,
and for other flights between
1,500 km and 3,500 km.
for all other flights
(typically non-EU flights over 3,500 km).

In cases of denied boarding due to overbooking, Regulation (EC) No. 261/2004 guarantees you several fundamental rights.
The airline must immediately offer you a choice.
Full ticket refund and, if necessary, a return flight to your original point of departure.
An alternative flight (rerouting) to your final destination, as soon as possible or on a later date that suits you.
In addition to a refund or rerouting, you are entitled to immediate compensation ranging from €250 to €600. This amount may be reduced by 50% if the alternative flight offered allows you to reach your destination with only a limited delay compared to the original schedule.
While you wait for the alternative flight, you are entitled to meals and drinks, two phone calls or emails, and, if necessary, hotel accommodation with transport.
It’s important to understand these are two separate rights, and you may be entitled to both.
It's the return of the ticket price if you decide not to travel.
It's a sum of money owed for the inconvenience caused by being denied boarding.
If you decide not to accept an alternative flight, you are entitled to both a full ticket refund and compensation for the inconvenience.
If the airline doesn’t offer meals, drinks, hotel accommodation, or the communication options required by law:
No upfront fees. If there’s no compensation, there’s no charge.
